Judicial Officer Dies by Suicide Amid Alleged Harassment
Delhi, May 02, 2026 — Aman Kumar Sharma, a 30-year-old Judicial Officer serving as Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (North-East District) at Karkardooma Courts, died by suicide on 2 May 2026. His body was found hanging in the bathroom of his residence in Delhi’s Safdarjung / Green Park area.
According to his family, Sharma had been suffering mental harassment for two months from his wife Swati (also a judicial officer) and her sister Nidhi Malik (an IAS officer). The situation escalated during an argument where Swati allegedly threatened to call the police on Sharma’s father.
Key Highlight:
Despite serious allegations of harassment and abetment of suicide by his wife and sister-in-law, no action has been taken against them so far. Police have registered an FIR, but as of now, neither Swati nor Nidhi Malik has been arrested.
